Local teams to help disaster survivors with FEMA applications

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Local Disaster Survivor Assistance Teams have been created to help tornado victims in Nashville.

The Office of Emergency Management put together these teams, who will travel to emergency shelters at Centennial Sportsplex and Smith Springs Community Center on Monday. The goal is to help those who aren't able to get to Disaster Assistance Centers.

Teams will bring laptops and supplies to help people apply for FEMA benefits.

Additional resources and information will be provided for the Red Cross, Mental Health Services, and other support services.

After Monday, teams will continue going to Centennial Sportsplex until all clients have been registered.
