NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In the midst of COVID-19, a local musician is writing about the experiences we’re all going through. David Wilson says he wrote the song, “Together,” in hopes of bringing people together, while we’re all staying apart.

Wilson says he was inspired to write the song when he saw the infamous empty aisles at a local store.

Wilson said the social distancing recommendations are something we are all having a hard time getting used to, and he wrote about that in the song as well.

Wilson says he understands the importance of staying apart, but when he started writing this song, he never knew he may become infected by the very virus he was writing about. He says he currently has a fever of 100 point 3.

“It kind of feels like somethings pushing on my chest, like there’s a weight on my chest,” Wilson said.

For now, Wilson is self-quarantining in his upstairs music room.
