A driver with the Tennessee Department of Correction was injured when his bus rolled backwards.
The incident was reported Wednesday morning near a crosswalk at Nashville General Hospital.
TDOC officials said the driver was dropping off prisoners at the hospital for medical treatment at the time.
At some point, the bus began to roll backwards.
In the process of trying to get back on, his ankle got caught between the bus and the guardrail. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.
It’s unclear as to why the bus began moving.
The prisoners had already been dropped off when the incident happened.
