A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting outside a south Nashville nightclub.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said Cedarius Williams was arrested Monday morning by a U.S. Marshal Task Force. He was taken into custody on Peachers Mill Road in Clarksville.

On July 30, investigators said a gunman approached four men sitting in a Tahoe outside the Reign Nightclub on Murfreesboro Pike. (More: 1 Killed, 2 Injured In Murfreesboro Pike Shooting)

That person fired multiple shots, striking 28-year-old Billy Ray Long, Jr. and two others. Long, whom police said was behind the wheel of the SUV, later died from his injuries.

Williams was later identified as a suspect in the case.

An arrest warrant was issued, charging him with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The motive for the shooting was unclear. No altercation was reported inside the club before the shooting outside.
