The month of May has brought about a sad change at NewsChannel 5 as we get ready for Ron Howes’ retirement.
With his departure after a storied career spanning 35 years of serving Middle Tennessee, we decided to celebrate his experience and dedication to viewers and meteorology through the "Seasons of Ron."
On Tuesday, May 10, we remembered when Ron first came to NewsChannel 5 in 1980. This was how he was introduced to viewers in the earliest commercial spot promoting him as our new meteorologist.
Wednesday, May 11, we shared with you a promotional spot from 1998 that portrayed an even "younger" Ron.
We took a look back to a 1983 Friends campaign depicting Ron on Thursday, May 12.
