Police have been searching for a missing man who suffers from dementia.
Authorities said 72-year-old Lonnie Richard Smith was believed to have walked away from his Wakefield Drive home in South Nashville between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday.
According to reports, he has been known to take short walks and has enjoyed visiting the Ellington Agricultural Center; however, police said efforts to find him in that area have been unsuccessful.
Smith was described as standing around 5’7’’ tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He has gray hair and a beard.
Officials said he was last seen wearing a green/gray windbreaker and blue jeans.
