Police: Man Clocked Driving 94 MPH Before Crash

A man was taken into custody over the weekend after allegedly driving recklessly in Franklin.

Officials with Franklin Police said Jessie M. Haddox, of Franklin, was clocked driving 94 mph in a 30 mph zone.

Officers spotted his vehicle shortly after 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Murfreesboro Road and Blue Grass Drive.

Police said he drove onto a downtown sidewalk and over a crosswalk signal before crashing through a fence on 3rd Avenue. 

Haddox allegedly refused to stop and was able to evade officers.

The 27-year-old was taken into custody after police identified him using his license plate.

He was charged with speeding, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, driving without insurance and felony evading.

He was booked on a $4,500 bond.
