Authorities said they are investigating multiple convenience store robberies in Nashville.
This latest incident happened late Wednesday night at a Mapco in Donelson -- making it the fifth overnight convenience store robbery this week.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they responded to the store on McGavock Pike shortly before midnight.
The suspect, who claimed he had a gun, entered the store and ordered the clerk to put money in a bag.
Police said he pulled out a sliver handgun and also demanded the clerk put cigarettes in there, as well.
From there, he fled from the scene.
The employee was not injured, but was shaken up after encountering the gunman.
Police believe the first four robberies were connected, but have not said if this latest incident is related to the others.
In those robberies, two men worked together; however, the suspect acted alone in Wednesday night’s robbery.
The suspect was described as a black man, who was wearing a mask that only showed his eyes, with red shoes, a black hoodie, white shirt and gray sweatpants.
