Franklin Police Investigate Attempted Bank Robbery

Police have asked residents to avoid an area in Franklin after an attempted bank robbery was reported.

Officials with Franklin Police confirmed the incident in a tweet Thursday morning. Residents were asked to avoid the Berry Farms area.

Police said the suspect entered the Franklin Synergy Bank on Moss Lane at 10:45 a.m. He approached the teller and announced the robbery but left without getting any money. 

The suspect was described as being a white male, around 5'7" tall with a medium build. Witnesses said he had tan, leathery skin with a white goatee. 

He was wearing a blue and grey plaid flannel jacket, a yellow construction vest, and tan pants. Police said he appeared to have yellow teeth in very poor condition. 

Agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were also brought in on the case. Anyone with information should call 615-794-4000.
