The case against the son of the man accused of killing 7-year-old Gabbi Doolin will go before the Allen County Grand Jury. The judge made the decision during a preliminary hearing.
Bradley Madden, age 20, appeared in court Wednesday morning to hear the evidence against him. Police said after Bradley's father, Timothy, was charged in the rape and murder of Doolin, the son made threats against all the officers of the Scottsville Police Department.
During testimony, one officer said when Bradley was in the patrol car being transported to the Allen County Jail after his arrest, he told officers (the threat of harm) was a promise, not a threat.
Bradley was charged with multiple counts of intimidation and terroristic threatening after he sent direct messages on Facebook to the police department.
The defendant appeared to be crying as officers testifies against him.
His court-appointed public defender argued the younger Madden was upset about his father's arrest and the accusations against him. The attorney argued that although Madden was not as eloquent as he could have been, he had no real intent to hurt officers, but to threaten legal action for slander against the police department.
The judge said there was enough evidence to send the case to the grand jury, and denied a request for a lower bond.
The charges were unrelated specifically to the Gabbi Doolin case against his father.
