The Bellevue Harpeth Chamber of Commerce held its 40th annual community picnic.
The event was held on Saturday at Red Caboose Park, and it included food trucks, arts and crafts, inflatables, rides, and live music - featuring a singing competition. Winners from each age group took home $500 prizes.
Organizers said the event has come a long way since it started in 1977.
"It started 40 years ago with Dee Dee Ryan and watermelons on the yard, and it has turned into this,” said Amanda Jones, President-elect of the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. “We still have watermelons we give away for free, and that happens every single year.”
This year's picnic was sponsored by Nashville Christian School.
