Police have asked the public’s help in identifying a man who allegedly threatened to shoot a convenience store clerk before stealing the cash drawer.

The incident happened overnight Monday at a Marathon Gas Station just off Old Hickory Boulevard in the Whites Creek area.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the suspect entered the store, demanded money and then made threats to shoot the clerk.

The employee left the register and locked himself in the back.

At that time, police said the man jumped the counter, ripped out the cash drawer and ran out to a getaway car.

The suspect was described as being between 28 to 32-years-old, standing around 5’10” tall, and weighs about 180 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket with white logos, blue jeans, white shoes and a black knit cap.

Police said he fled in a dark 4-door sedan, possibly a 2012 Nissan Altima.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
