Two men and a woman were injured when their car left the roadway and crashed into a small creek.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday on River Road Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the car crashed into Indian Creek after missing a turn.

First responders were forced to climb down an embankment to reach the victims. There they found a woman in the passenger seat.

A man was located in an area of tall grass about 30 yards away from the car. It’s unclear where the third person was found.

All three were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Nearby homeowner Jerry Heath said the crash took out his mailbox. He said people crash and cause damage to his mailbox at least five to six times a year.

There was no immediate word if alcohol was involved in the collision.
