Three employees with the Fairview Police Department have been officially terminated.

Those with the department released the information Thursday afternoon.

Reports stated Mark Sutton, Shane Dunning, and Pat Stockdale were contacted Wednesday regarding the termination.

Officials said the employees were given the reasons for the termination; however, those details were not released in the statement Thursday.

All three had been on leave and were mentioned in a report regarding an investigation into the Fairview Police Department.

That report stated that no crimes were committed.

On July 21, around a week before the termination announcement, two of the employees, Dunning and Stockdale, released information that they were suing the city, including local leaders, the mayor, and commissioners.

They said they were never told why they were placed on leave and believed it was retaliation for bringing other corruption to light within the police department, incidents that were included in the investigation.

In regard to the termination, authorities said there were no new details or ongoing investigations into the matter.
