Police have been investigating after two juveniles were injured in a shooting in North Nashville.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon at 18th Avenue North and Cass Street.

Authorities said two juveniles were shot. One of them was shot in the hand, and the other was injured in the hip.

Both were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials added they believe they're searching for two teenagers who are armed.

The shooting took place less than half a mile from whereEarl Jordan, with the group Partners In The Struggle, was holding a gathering promoting alternatives to teen gun violence.

"It's devastating that we can create an event about youth dropping their guns and letting them have some fun, and our youth are out here picking up these guns and firing at someone, and it could have ultimately took their lives," Jordan said.

No details had been released on the cause of the shooting. The investigation was ongoing.
