18-Year-Old Shot, Killed; Drug Motive Possible

Detectives said they’re pursuing strong leads in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old in Nashville.

The shooting happened after 5 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Hickory Trace Apartments on Hickory Hollow Place.

Officials said 18-year-old Kevion Tate was fatally shot. Witnesses told police they heard several shots and saw multiple vehicles flee from the parking lot.

Reports stated Tate was found on the pavement. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Authorities said a potential drug motive for the shooting was being explored.
