18-Year-Old Injured In Cookeville Shooting

An 18-year-old was injured in a shooting on Easter Sunday in Putnam County. 

Officers with the Cookeville Police Department were called to a residence on East 14th Street at 6 p.m.

According to investigators, a man had been shot in his arm and torso.

He was initially taken to Cookeville Regional Medical Center but was later transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Police said his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Other people were also home at the time of the shooting, and described the suspects as multiple men wearing bandanas. 

The motive for the shooting was unknown at this time. However, police do not believe it was a random incident.
