K-9 officer discovers a half pound of methamphetamine in man's vehicle

LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. (WTVF) — A methamphetamine dealer has been arrested after a job well-done by a canine officer in Lawrence County.

During a traffic stop on Thursday, K-9 officer, Kilo with the Lawrenceburg Police Department was conducting a K-9 Sniff on a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu at Walmart when he indicated there were drugs in the vehicle.

A subsequent search by police yielded a half pound of methamphetamine.

The vehicle was identified as belonging to 44-year-old Brian Perry of Columbia, TN.

Perry was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail where he was released on a $24,000 bond.

Perry has been charged with Possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, Possession of Schedule VI Drugs, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in Lawrence Co General Sessions court on 04/05/2019.
