First Responders closed all lanes of interstate 65 South at Concord Road and Morres Lane in Brentwood for a few hours while they investigated major crash.
It happened at mile marker 70 just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The crash involved multiple vehicles, and multiple people were injured. However, the exact number was unclear.
The Brentwood Police Department officials urged drivers to avoid the area near Moores Lane.
Crews at the scene of the crash have marked off an area with orange cones for drivers on the interstate to turn around and drive north on the shoulder of the southbound lanes.
