CHRISTIANA, Tenn. (WTVF) — The husband of a Rutherford County woman killed in a tornado in November is filing a lawsuit against the construction company who built their home, saying they failed to properly anchor the home.
41-year-old Angie Walker was killed after an EF-2 tornado hit parts of Christiana in the evening of November 8th, 2018. The tornado had speeds of 135 miles an hour, according to the National Weather Service.
In the lawsuit, Scott Walker alleges that Ralph Baxter Construction, LLC. did not properly secure the home's anchor bolts into the concrete footings. If that happened, the lawsuit says that could have prevented the home from completely flipping over, causing Angie's death. The home was built in 2017, according to the suit.
Walker is asking for damages in what the lawsuit calls the "wrongful death" of his wife.
