HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A donation fund has been set up to assist the family of Hendersonville police officer Spencer Bristol, who was hit and killed Monday night during a foot pursuit on Interstate 65.
The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. at mile marker 95 near Vietnam Vets Parkway. Hendersonville police said Bristol was chasing after a suspect, but was hit by a vehicle as he crossed I-65 South.
The 100 Club of Sumner County has set up a fund for the Bristol family at Volunteer State Bank. Click here to donate.
The Hendersonville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge partnered with Barbells and Badges to create a T-shirt and hoodie to honor the fallen officer and raise money for his family.
"Not only does this help the family in a time of need at a minimal waiting time for the money but it also keeps his memory alive for years to come," FOP Lodge 63 President Matthew J. Sigmund said in a press release.

Bristol, a U.S. Navy veteran, joined the department in 2015. The 31-year-old leaves behind a wife and 3-year-old daughter.
