A school resource officer in Rutherford County has resigned after being arrested for public intoxication.
SRO Daniel Thomas was arrested and charged Wednesday by the Murfreesboro Police Department.
He was assigned to Holloway High School. The police report said officers found him at a hotel bar throwing up in a trash can. Workers told police Thomas had caused a disturbance in the lobby with a guest and refused to leave the bar.
Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh said Thomas was placed on administrative leave after the arrest. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Thomas was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and was released on $250 bond. A hearing was set for Jan. 24 in General Sessions Court.
