NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Hendersonville man who allegedly shot at both bail bondsmen and officers who were trying to take him into custody late Tuesday was caught in Nashville.
Officers said the shooting happened on Ivy Drive at about 7:30p.m. Tuesday. Bail bondsmen had gone to the home to try to arrest 54-year-old John Lankford, when they said Lankford fired multiple gunshots at them. When Hendersonville police officers also responded to the scene, they said Lankford also shot at them.
No one was struck by the gunfire.
Hendersonville Police put out an alert to the community when Lankford took off from the Ivy Drive home.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Lankford was caught in the 700 block of Gallatin Ave. at about 2:30a.m. Wednesday, after a brief foot chase.
Lankford is facing three counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony.
