Hazmat crews were called out to a crash on Interstate 40 in Nashville after a vehicle carrying radioactive material collided with another car.

The incident happened early Thursday morning along eastbound lanes near the Donelson Pike exit.

Officials on the scene said a car and a medical vehicle carrying radioactive material collided.

The driver of the medical vehicle was transported to an area hospital. That person was expected to be okay.

Hazmat were called to check on radioactive levels as a precaution.

Behind that wreck, a secondary crash happened when a driver struck a wall and hit a Tennessee Department of Transportation truck.

No major injuries were reported.

Both crashes caused a significant delay along the interstate.
