COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — We are hearing from more friends of Amanda Chatman, the mother who was killed along with her two sons Tuesday when she was hit by someone trying to run away from police.
One day removed from Amanda Chatman’s death, her friend Katherine Walker, remembers meeting Amanda at the nursing home they both worked at.
"I think that was her calling," Walker said. "She was the most kind-hearted person."
Amanda was killed Tuesday with her two boys, ages 3 and 4, driving them to daycare. In short: being the best mom she could.
"They were her life, that’s what she lived for," Walker said. "Many times that’s exactly what she would say, I live for my kids."
Amanda’s friends can’t help but think of those she’s leaving behind, including a 2-year-old daughter and a stepdaughter.
"I know she’s looking over her little girl and her stepdaughter," Walker said. "It's not fair."
