Flying Cucumber Blimp Lands In Smyrna

A nationally popular blimp being kept at the Smyrna Airport has been nicknamed the Flying Cucumber.

The 135” dirigible airship has been flying around Nashville the past week. It may seem small from the ground but it holds an 8-12 person crew.

Hendricks is a gin that is infused with cucumber and rose, and the airship was launched to celebrate world cucumber day and promote the brand.

“It really is a take on a time of travel very much forgotten. Hendricks is a very whimsical gin and we wanted to express ourselves in a way that’s very fun odd whimsical,” said Fred Parent.

Its West Coast tour began in San Diego and made its way across the country, returning to the state where it’s housed here in Tennessee.
