Businesses underwater in Overton County; State of Emergency remains in effect

LIVINGSTON, Tenn. (WTVF) — A State of Emergency has been declared in Overton County as the threat of flooding remains high over the next two days.

The Overton/Picket E-911 Facebook page confirmed that County Executive Ben Danner declared the emergency on Thursday.

Heavy rainfall amounts have already caused flooding in the Livingston area. Photos posted to social media show several businesses flooded.

Areas south of Interstate 40 are expected to see the most significant flooding. An additional two to four inches of rain is expected but some areas could see as much as five inches.
