NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two firefighters and three emergency medical technicians from the Nashville Fire Department have tested positive for COVID-19.
All who worked with those who tested positive have been notified and will be monitored by the department.
Since the outbreak began, 56 department employees have been tested for the novel coronavirus, and eight had positive results. Three have since recovered.
The fire department has transported 288 confirmed COVID-19 patients overall.
Department employees are required to wear face coverings when in public, which includes going into businesses such as grocery stores. Additionally, everyone will have their temperature checked at the beginning and end of their shift, including employees who work at the Nashville Fire Department headquarters.
