NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Nashville Fire Department gave back to students in need by giving them new coats.

Local firefighters and local members of the International Association of Firefighters gave kids at Tom Joy Elementary School. Every student at Tom Joy Elementary School went home Wednesday with a brand-new coat.

The non-profit Operation Warm raised a portion of the money to get the coats, and the rest was raised locally.

Last year, firefighters distributed winter coats to students at Paragon Mills Elementary School.
