PEKIN, Ill. — Jeffrey Reinking, the father of the accused Waffle House shooter has pleaded not guilty to a weapons charge in an Illinois Court.
According to WMBD, Reinking made the plea to an charge of Unlawful Delivery of a Firearm in a Tazewell County Court Thursday.
Reinking was charged after police say he returned a gun to his son, Travis Reinking, knowing he had a history of mental health issues. The gun was ultimately used in the deadly Waffle House shooting.
Four people were killed in the attack. Jeffrey and Travis both face criminal charges and several lawsuits as a result.
Last month Jeffrey Reinking's attorney released a statement saying "Jeff Reinking has not committed a criminal offense."
