NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — In one year, the fashion line that features the pattern on Nashville's airport's carpet has added nearly two dozen items to their collection.

"It started with just socks," Craig Jarrell said.

The carpet at Nashville International Airport has a reputation. Although only ten years old, many travelers feel sentimental toward the carpet.

"I think people are tied to it because it's home, you're back home and people love it," airport spokesperson Shannon Sumrall said.

The floor covering has an active Instagram account with more than 22,000 followers.

"People talk about the carpet, they post about it when they get home and now our clothes are getting involved too," Jarrell said.

Heading into the fashion line's one year anniversary, the line includes a sweatshirt, two sets of leggings, hats, bag tags, stilettos and more.

"There was one woman who ordered the hoodie, leggings, slippers and hat!" Jarrell exclaimed.

The airport plans to retire the carpet in the next few years during its remodel.

"We are going to be changing out all the flooring in the airport. It needs an update. It's for maintenance reasons really," Sumrall explained.

The airport spends roughly $500,000 a year keeping the iconic carpet clean.
