The family of a Fort Campbell soldier killed in 2016 has pleaded for answers about what happened to their son. Now they're hoping a large cash reward will convince someone to come forward.
Austin McGeough was hit and killed on a road in Pleasant View last October.
Cheatham County investigators said the 21-year-old was had alcohol and drugs in his system. They said he may have been hallucinating when he broke into a nearby nursery and called 911, claiming he was being chased by bees.
That's when he ran into the road and was hit.
However, his family doesn't believe it. They think someone was chasing him and ran him over.
They've offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for his death.
However, a grand jury reportedly ruled the driver who hit him would not face charges even if they're found.
