NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nine people are without a place to stay after a fire damaged two townhomes near Priest Lake late Tuesday.

The fire started at about 11 p.m. Tuesday on Forest Lake Drive.

Nashville Fire Department investigators are trying to figure out what caused the back of the townhomes to catch fire. The fire appeared to originate on the back deck of one of the homes, where a washer and dryer were sitting.

NewsChannel 5 also saw investigators looking at the electrical boxes of each of the homes after the fire was put out.

Fire crews said most of the damage was contained to the back of the homes, so they aren't considered destroyed.

Nine people lived in the two townhomes, including an infant.
