The Fairview Police Chief retired during an ongoing investigation involving him and other officers.

A high ranking source with the city of Fairview confirmed that Chief Terry Harris retired Thursday.

Fairview City Manager Wayne Hall opened an investigation almost a week earlier into Chief Harris and Assistant Chief Mark Sutton, for a possible conflict of interest with former Fairview officer Ronnie Williams.

While former officer Williams worked for Fairview, he also worked for private security firm Apex Security, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Hall placed Harris and Sutton on administrative leave while the city looked into the possibility that they gave Williams his full-time position with Fairview in exchange for private, off-duty opportunities to work for his firm.

Questions arose about their relationship when Williams was arrested after being on the job full-time at Fairview for just one day.

Metro Police say they arrested Williams by citation during a prostitution sting at a hotel on Wallace Road in Nashville.

They say he showed up to the hotel, expecting to pay $120 for sex.
