NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Homeowners and renters affected by the Super Tuesday tornadoes now have until April 7, 2020 to file for emergency assistance through the American Red Cross.

“We want to make sure that everyone whose home or apartment that suffered major damage or was destroyed has an opportunity to file an application with the Red Cross for financial assistance,” said Kevin Watt, Disaster Program Manager for the American Red Cross Nashville Area. “If the damage to their home falls into this category and they have not yet contacted the Red Cross, they should make a phone call today if at all possible.”

Tennesseans can determine if they qualify for financial assistance and complete an application by calling 800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) and selecting prompt #4. Lines are open Monday through Friday from 7:20 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

One gift of financial assistance is available to each qualified household.

Additional forms of assistance may be available to those affected by the tornadoes by calling 2-1-1 or visiting https://redcrossdisasterresources.auntbertha.com/.
