NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Congressman Jim Cooper stopped by the Green Hills Library to check out Davidson County's new voting machines.

They are state-of-the-art and have voter-verified paper audit trails. They will replace the county’s current voting machines.

Davidson County Election Commission officials are offering previews to the public.

Congressman Cooper said he hopes the new machines will help instill confidence and get more people to come out to the polls.

Officials are also offering demonstrations to find out how to use the new machines. The next one is Wednesday, June 12 at Bellevue Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
