WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WTVF) — For the twelfth time ever in Middle Tennessee, a tornado touched down in the month of September.
Tuesday afternoon a confirmed EF-0 tornado occurred in Williamson County and remained on the ground for 2.8 miles, and was 25 yards wide.
National Weather Service officials say it touched down in the southwestern part of the county causing mostly tree damage on Green Chapel Road.
The tornado, which had peak winds of 75 MPH, touched down on Green Chapel Road in Williamson County, and moved east on North Lick Creek Road before ending just before I-840 at Bending Chestnut Road.
