School Patrol: Weather Wednesday

Posted

There's a lot going on in the Monroe Carell Junior Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, where everyday, doctors make new strides in the health care of it's young patients.

But, one of the features that has attracted patients and parents alike, is the Ryan Seacrest Studio.

The studio, which has been a part of the hospital for the past two years, offers young patients, the chance to forget their illness for awhile, and just have fun.

Part of that fun includes Weather Wednesday, where NewsChannel 5 Meteorologist Henry Rothenberg broadcasts the day's forecast from the studio.

Children of all ages, are encouraged to leave their rooms if possible, and play with the green screen, keeping a check on the highs and lows of Middle Tennessee.

And for those who can't get to the studio, they often place a call from their room, asking Henry, and Program Manager Mamie Shepherd a timely question about the weather.

The Seacrest studio, attracts such special guests as Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton, who both know how important it is, to let the patients know, that just because they're in the hospital, doesn't mean, they can't have fun.
