NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The West Meade Elementary School Principal is encouraging his students to be environmentally correct.

They are part Metro School's "A Bag's Life," which involves seven MNPS schools competing to make an impact on the environment.

The school that collects the most bags and plastic wraps by Earth Day, April 22, will win a park bench made from recycled plastic bags.

Principal Stephen Breese has told his students he intends to win and so far, things are looking promising. As each day the students bring in plastic bags from home, to be counted.

They know that recycling plastic bags into more useful products, will make their environment, a better one.
