NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Downtown's upcoming Whole Foods Market now has an official grand opening date.

The grocery store will open at 1202 Broadway at 9 a.m. on Friday, February 28.

Whole Foods says customers can expect free coffee and pastries before the store opens. The first 250 guests in line will also get a token valid for a custom Whole Foods Market Nashville reusable tote bag and a savings card that could range in value between $5 and $20.

Plans to open the 44,500 square-foot high-end grocery store downtown were first announced in 2016.

“We are excited to bring Whole Foods Market to downtown Nashville,” said Heather Masullo, Store Team Leader. “We look forward to providing the Nashville community with greater access to high-quality food, grocery and body care products, as well as a destination to discover new flavors and local items unique to this area.”

The downtown location will offer a fresh produce department, a full-service butcher, a seafood department, a specialty foods section, beer and wine, an in-house bakery and prepared foods. There will also be beauty and body care merchandise available and Broad Brews, a full-service coffee bar which also offers beer, canned wine and pastries.

It will be the third location in the greater Nashville area, joining the Green Hills location and the McEwen location.

The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
