NASHVILLE, Tenn (WTVF) — A Donelson car was, Wash Me Express, is putting a twist on the haunted house theme by creating a haunted car wash.
"We decided why not do a car wash. people can come through with their windows up and it’s safe; they'll have a good time and the kids will get candy," said Nicole Fralick, vice president of Wash Me Express.
She says she didn't want Halloween to be canceled and her two sons didn't want that either. But she knows with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, some people are still choosing to safely celebrate Halloween inside.
So to provide a safe alternative to staying home, staff transformed the car wash into a spooky soak. They put up scary decorations including creepy clowns, spider webs, and fake blood.
But the real trick or treat happens when drivers pull their car inside the wash. Staff will be dressed up in their favorite scary costumes and props to give people a wash like no other.
"A lot of scares, trust me we went through last night and I put my two boys in the back. You want the real reactions. They were like 'dude, that was so awesome,' they were 'aah it was great," Fralick said.
The haunted car wash kicks off Friday, Oct. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. and lasts until Sunday. It will open again for Halloween weekend at both the Donelson and Springfield locations.
