ANTIOCH, Tenn. - Metro Police officers are looking for a burglar who broke into an Antioch home and fired several shots at the family dog.

The incident happened Sunday night on Valley Ridge Drive.

Phil Yochum said his roommate found 7-year-old Annie by the kitchen. She was lying in a pool of blood.

"I believed she attacked him full on and was not going to let up. She's a territorial dog. She loves me very much and she's aware that's her job and she did it well," said Yochum.

The thief left behind several bullet holes on the kitchen floor.

"There were eight bullets fired, from a .45 full metal jacket round, hollow point bullets," he said.

Four of those bullets hit Annie, shattering her front leg and injuring her hind leg.

The thief didn't take anything, but Yochum said the veterinary bill for her surgeries is quickly adding up. He has since set up a Go Fund Me account. Any updates on Annie's condition can be found here.
