Update from Meteorologist Henry Rothenberg:
With the heat in place, a cold front will push our way during the afternoon and evening. This will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms.
A few of the storms could be strong to severe.
The primary threat will be damaging winds, small hail and heavy downpours. The heavy rain could lead to localized flooding.
Behind the front, it'll still be hot for the second half of the week, but the humidity levels will be lower.
