Crews Battle Fatal House Fire In Antioch

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Firefighters recovered the body of a man from a burning home in Antioch on Ellen Way.

Crews got the call around Tuesday evening around 8:30 p.m.

Officials with the Nashville Fire Department said the fire was contained to an upstairs bedroom, but was so hot that it burned through the floor.

However, When firefighters arrived they did not see any smoke or filames.

They said the body appeared to have been dead longer than the fire had been burning.

The victim was at work, but relatives said they were worried becasue they couldn't reach him. They went to the home, and that's when they saw smoke and called 911.

Relatives said that he was a smoker.

Fire marshal and medical examiner  will determine the exact cause of death, and the cause of the fire was unknown.
