NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — One person was killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle that closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Nashville.

Metro Police say 22-year-old Laterrell Cline II of Memphis was killed in the wreck.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation reported the crash at mile marker 46.8 near the 24/65 North loop at Ellington Parkway and Spring Street.

Cline was driving fast in the far-right lane on the I-65 South split when he sideswiped a car, before crossing all three lanes of I-24 East, going up an embankment, and struck a bridge overpass.

The crash was reported just before 10 p.m., and all eastbound lanes were blocked as emergency crews responded.

A passenger with Cline went to Vanderbilt Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car that was sideswiped declined medical treatment.

Police say all three were wearing seat belts. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involved found at the scene.
