Matt Jones announced on Twitter Wednesday night that due to a complaint filed by the Kentucky GOP with the Federal Election Commission, he will not be on Kentucky Sports Radio in the near future.
The complaint accused Jones of abusing sponsors on his media platforms as he mulls over running against Ret. Lt. Colonel Amy McGrath for the Democratic primary. The winner will face off against Sen. Mitch McConnell November 2020.
Jones has formed an exploratory committee, but has not yet officially filed to run.
He is also writing an illustrated book called "Mitch, Please!" Jones was removed from his hosting duties on WLEX's “Hey Kentucky” after he announced he was writing the book.
You can read Jones' statement here. He tweeted that he does not blame iHeart Radio, saying, "They have been supportive in this entire process and wonderful to work for."

Let me just say this...I do not blame iHeart Radio. They have been very supportive in this entire process and wonderful to work for
I understand why they don't need the fight considering my decision will be coming soon.
I am disappointed but not surprised about Mitch McConnell
