NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Total strangers continue to work hard to help people affected by the tornadoes that hit eight days ago.

One place that hasn't slowed down is the Community Resource Center in Nashville.

So far, the CRC has taken in more than $180,000 in donations, but they're hoping to get all the way up to $500,000.

The organization is run by volunteers and relies completely on community donations.

"Volunteerism is what the state is based on, we're the volunteers. and every day someone surprises me in what they do." said Tina Doniger, Community Resource Center executive director.

On Wednesday, a couple drove a truckload of donations in from Missouri, but once they saw the center was in need of transportation, they ended up donating the truck as well.
