NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville detectives are searching for a dark colored sedan suspected in a homicide case. They believe it could be connected to the murder of 20-year-old Jesus Reyes.

A home surveillance system captured the vehicle leaving the scene.

Reyes, who most people knew as "Chuy", was gunned down in the driveway of his Antioch home this week on Dover Glen Drive. Metro Police say he and his girlfriend were pulling into the driveway when a man approached the driver's side and fired multiple shots into the car. Chuy didn't survive; his girlfriend was shot in the shoulder.

His teammates and coaches with Nashville Knights fútbol club are devastated about his murder and say they don't know why he would've been a target.

“You just didn’t lose a friend or a family member you lost someone who was going to bring a change to this world we are living in,” Nashville Now Soccer 365 Founder Jomo Cromwell said.

Cromwell has known “Chuy” since he was a teenager. Friends say Chuy was also a mentor to kids in the Davidson County community and taught them the game of soccer.

He also had dreams of becoming a professional soccer player.

Police are still trying to determine a motive in the case. Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.

Nashville Knights FC will host a tribute soccer game in Chuy’s honor Saturday at Rose Park at 6 p.m.
