NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee has received a $100,000 check to go towards helping tornado survivors.
Just a few days ago, the foundation said they've already taken in nearly $7 million in pledges and that number has likely climbed.
The foundation activated the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund hours after the tornadoes hit. It didn't take long for pledges to start pouring in.
The tornadoes killed 24 people and destroyed or damaged homes and business across Middle Tennessee.
Around 50,000 people were without power at one point.
