CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police negotiations with a barricaded individual in Clarksville came to an end after they were found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound on Saturday.

Clarksville PD say the public is now allowed to return to their homes.

The incident began at 1:34 p.m. after officers responded to a domestic call on Scott Drive.

Officers found 30-year-old Kantrell Head on Cranklen Circle and were able to secure a toddler that they left Scott Drive with.

Head then barricaded before officers could intervene, and threatened suicide.

Police officers attempted at length to negotiate with Head to come out peacefully and Clarksville PD ordered those in the surrounding area to stay put in their homes until the situation resolved.

After negotiation attempts, officers found that they died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Homicide detectives have started an investigation and the scene is being processed by the Crime Scene Team.

No officers were injured during the incident.

This is still an active investigation.
